The news of Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o's inspirational girlfriend story turning out to be a hoax spread at a rapid pace on social media Wednesday.

The Deadspin.com story that showed there were no records of Lennay Kekua's death led to many snarky tweets from famous sports figures and celebrities.
